WINNS' MAY 2022 ROUND UP

WINNS were excited to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Thursday.

A Garden Party was held at the owners home and attended by clients past and present, old and new, employees past and present, old and new, service partners, stakeholders and

The day allowed everyone to connect on a social level and to be able to put names to faces and see the human side behind everyone’s professional persona.

The owners also wanted to thank everyone for their contribution not only to the financial success of WINNS but for their contribution to the family ethos at the heart of the Company.

NEW CONTRACTS

HEATHERWICK STUDIOS

Considering our patriotic leaning at WINNS it seems fortuitous that we can reveal that we have been awarded the cleaning and security contract at Heatherwick studio as they were responsible for the the Tree of Trees which were illuminated during a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace on the evening of Thursday 2nd June in honour of Her Majesty the Queen. The sculpture is one part of a national community campaign to plant more trees and inspire the next generation of tree planters, led by the Queen’s Green Canopy.

Heatherwick Studio is a team of over 200 problem solvers dedicated to making the physical world around us better for everyone. Based out of their combined workshop and design studio in Central London, they create buildings, spaces, master-plans, objects and infrastructure. Focusing on large scale projects in cities all over the world, they prioritise those with the greatest positive social impact. Working as practical inventors with no signature style, their motivation is to design soulful and interesting places which embrace and celebrate the complexities of the real world.

WINNS is really excited about playing a part, however small, in their investment in the future.

CRSA - CREWE

CRSA asked WINNS Services to investigate a CCTV solution for the Crewe Hub Project, the cameras had to be environmentally acceptable, self-sufficient, and easily movable.

After checking the market, we opted for a No power connection.Solar which makes it completely self-sufficient. If the sun is not shining, the built-in batteries take over without interruption. The highly visible CCTV towers incorporate high-resolution cameras, loudspeakers and green LED flood lights illuminating the site and warning perpetrators to stay away. In the event of an Incident, the high-resolution images are sent to our control centre in real time to escalate an immediate live response. Managers on site can also connect to the software and monitor the situation when not on site

THE MOGDEN KIER UPGRADE PROJECT

WINNS Started a new contract with Kier at the Mogden Sewage upgrade works, the third largest sewage treatment plant in the UK.  WINNS are supplying the janitorial services to the whole project as well as consulting on environmental issues such as chemical free cleaning.

Mogden was built in the 1930s and the upgrade will include existing tanks as well as the construction of new tanks, replacement of key mechanical and process equipment and a site wide upgrade of electrical panels.

AUTOMATIC NUMBERPLATE RECOGNITION (ANPR)

CRSA asked WINNS to investigate ways to speed up access and egress on site, recording the registration and time in and out of site take a little time, if we have possession this could mean over a 100 vehicle per shift, and with also having to book on with SAC this can add 2 min per vehicle which all adds up.

Using ANPR Access licence plate readers together with an access control system, vehicle licence plates can be used as an ANPR camera system allowing authorised vehicles into controlled areas as well as for tracking the vehicles’ movements on and off-site, without the delay of staff recording details and are accessible in an emergency.

CPD - NEW QUALIFICATIONS AT WINNS

WINNS Services are happy to announce that Chris Stebbing, Director of Operations, has been accepted into the Association of Security Consultants.

NEW STARTERS

NELSON OKOYE - SALES

I have the privilege to work for WINNS SERVICES as a Salesperson, and have enjoyed working with the team.  In addition to generating and qualifying leads, sourcing and developing client referrals, prepare sales action plans and strategies, developing and maintaining a customer database, my role includes responding sales enquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person, ensuring customer service satisfaction and good client relationships .  I have received immense support in regards to adapting to the work environment and getting a-custom to the technical and technological tools to ensure that the work is done swiftly and effectively .

PERSONAL TARGETS

Progress is still being made by all Head Office staff towards achieving their personal targets set at the Quarterly Staff Training Day, where whole Company and Departmental Targets were agreed as a whole.

Ryan took part in the Nuclear races where he proved to be an excellent asset to his team that day.

Keri has posted on LinkedIN and Karen has begun training in Wing Chun.

Well done everyone!

COMPANY TARGETS

As a part of our Company GOSPA, we are encouraging our Back Office Staff to venture out into the field with our Operations team, this will enable Head Office to meet the clients face to face and give them a feel for what happens out in the field.

Keri, Office Manager had her chance this month to be chauffeured around the London sites with Reuben Weekes, Contracts Manager.  Here is what Keri had to say about her day in the field;

“I really enjoyed my day with Reuben, it was an interesting insight to what their day entails, with an added bonus of meeting some of our Clients and finally putting a name to the face!  It was interesting to visit the different Office spaces and ask the Office Managers how they are finding coming back after COVID, what they are doing differently if anything?  How they approach staff social events and wellbeing within the office.

Reuben was a brilliant host for the day, his knowledge of the business is second to none and if that fails he could definitely be a black cab driver, he knows all the back routes haha”

IMPROVING COMMUNICATION AND KNOWLEDGE FOR NEW AND PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS

Shanel Mellowship created TUPE booklets this month to ease the TUPE process for new clients and transferring staff.  In addition, as a team, Head Office created a blueprint for new contracts that identified all the face to face interactions between WINNS staff and new clients as well as behind the scenes actions necessary to ensure a smooth transfer/ start up.  Identifying potential fail points both within and outside of our control also allowed us to address these issues and to incorporate this into Account Manager and Supervisor training.

BLOGS

Our quarterly Company target was to increase our social media presence.  So we were really pleased to receive this award from HUBspot this month.

Congratulations on your 3-month blogging streak!

Please have a read of our blogs.  Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rachael, who has built up a relationship with Mary, arranged to take some flowers down to site to celebrate Mary’s Birthday.
