NOVEMBER ROUNDUP

December 22, 2022 by WINNS Services

What a month November was.

We saw Guy Fawkes night, Remembrance Day, Children In Need and the World Cup!  England played exceptionally well throughout the tournament and should definitely have their heads held high⚽️🦁  Not to mention we have now entered the most magical time of the year…….and here at WINNS, it’s beginning to look a lot like Xmas!  The tree is up and the mince pies are flowing!

PRAISE

It's great to receive praise from our clients and we love to pass on all the positivity.

This month I would like to thank each and every one of our staff for their continued hard work, it is much appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed.

WINNS has been praised for their continued efforts throughout the year for the cleaning of the Anglian Water satellite sites.  Keri keeps in contact with the site managers as we manage over 30 sites for regular updates on the wellbeing of the staff and level of service being received - thank you to all the staff who contribute to the smooth running of the multiple sites.

Natalie Howard, IT  & Facilities Operations Manager, at US&CO extended praise to Maurice Thourboune, for all his hard work whilst covering the cleaning on site.

Carolina Schiffer, Manager, Urban Works, passed on praise for new starter, Gita Medvedkina - she has settled in well and doing a good job.

CALENDAR DATES

WINNS Head Office will close for the Xmas period at 3pm on the 23rd December and will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January at 9am.  However, the Operations Team are working over the festive period and can be contacted directly on their mobile phones.  However, all issues during this time can be addressed by calling the Office landline which will transfer you to the 24/7 dedicated Help Desk.  You are not alone.

CHARITY

Last month I mentioned ‘Herd in the City' which raises money for Havens Hospice.  It will be taking place in the Summer from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-Sea and will hopefully build on the success of their ‘Hares about Town campaign of 2020’. The 40 large elephants will all have different designs.

Myself and Karen attended the Roslin Beach Hotel on Thursday 17th November to select our artist who will be designing our elephant.  We have selected the design and cannot wait to see the finished product in July at the VIP Trail Launch.  The trail dates will be running from 10th July until 4th September!  I will keep you updated with progress in our monthly roundup.

If you are involved with a charity or raising money for charity, please let us know. We would love to help your cause and promote it through our newsletter.

FEEDBACK

It is still a common concern that line managers keep changing and you don’t know who to contact. Please be assured that all the changes we implement are to benefit not only the Company but our field staff as well. We want to create a happy, positive workplace for all our staff.

However, if you do have any queries or concerns that you would like to raise, Ryan Stillwell, Finance Director, will be more than happy to assist you with your concerns.

Chris also took this opportunity to spread some Xmas cheer and deliver travel mugs for our frontline operatives in order to help them stay warm in the icy temperatures that we have been experiencing.

WHOLE COMPANY QUARTERLY TARGETS

We have come to the end of the current quarterly GOSPA targets and I am happy to report that we have achieved our goal.

A training day was held at Head Office for the drafting of the new Company GOSPA, to establish the next steps in order to improve the sustainability of the company and the wellbeing of staff. This includes looking at the STOP, START & KEEP Doing questions posed to all staff on a regular basis which all goes towards making WINNS a positive workplace for all.

On Monday 28th November we have a guest trainer, Sean Gallagher, from Avictus, come into Head Office to assist us in developing our situational awareness.  This was especially beneficial for our Operations Team who find themselves out late and on their own on many an occasion.  Our Operations Team have been advised that should they ever feel unsafe, they are to do whatever is necessary to protect themselves and we will deal with it in the morning.

ENERGY CRISIS

We are acutely aware that the energy crisis will have a negative impact on the economies of many of our clients and we are therefore working hard behind the scenes to consider economies of scale, innovative ways of working and cost saving measures for all our current clients.  If you are feeling the pinch, please get in touch and we can work together to ensure you get the best from our service at a sustainable price.

Having said that, we also appreciate that now more than ever is the time to take care of what you have and therefore keeping carpets, furnishings and buildings in tip top condition is imperative for the longevity of your items and aesthetics.
