WINNS holds that our workforce is our best asset.  A large proportion of Senior Management time is dedicated to the training and development of all WINNS staff, no matter what role,  so that we can  Provide a cleaning and security service that exceeds Client’s expectations.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Training for WINNS employees occurs at various stages of their individual career, as appropriate for their role and our client’s specific requirements.

Generic Induction Following TUPE Transfer

The induction sessions are held at the client’s premises and delivered by the Mobilisation Manager who will include an overview of the business and contract. The safety induction will be split into two, one generic session for all employees covering health and safety awareness, and a more detailed session for cleaning staff, explaining our processes in more detail.

Role Specific Induction

  • The job or role specific inductions will be undertaken at the place of work for the employee and will include specific site safety and safety/business processes as a priority. Further sessions will be arranged for contract awareness, structural awareness, and operating training.
  • Client’s vision, values, practices, ethos and brand image
  • Our QHSE Manager will additionally undertake a competency audit on the employee skills where appropriate

These stages of induction into our businesses are only the beginning of the culture change for the new employees. The first few months of a new employee’s career with us is carefully managed, with objectives being set by the Contract Manager at the first stage of the personnel development.

The HR Team will make contact with the employee within the first month of their employment to ensure that the induction period has been completed successfully and to discuss any other issues or concerns that the employee may have. As part of the account team, the employee will attend internal and external progress meetings as defined within the Quality Plan. The meetings are used as a tool to measure and manage the performance of the account.

MOTIVATED WORKFORCE

Staff motivation is a key theme, which runs throughout our entire approach. For the [...Insert Company Name…] cleaning team, we recognise that our work practices - such as goal setting and job design, management structure, team working, communication networks, staff appraisal systems, faimess etc., will not only affect our cleaner’s perceptions about, and commitment to, their work, but will also determine their motivation for effective operational task performance

As a result of much focused consideration of  R & D and Innovation, we have created a suite of Task Cards for our cleaning operatives. The Task Card modules make learning  simple and convenient, ensuring that all of our staff are fully trained quickly and efficiently.  This easy to use system offers a blended learning experience where each site can learn at different  times of the day and from any location, with immediate access to all tasks available, thanks to the new task sheet process.

With over 10 cards now completed, our clients can rest assured that our employees on their sites are getting best practice training and therefore Providing a cleaning and security service that exceeds Client’s expectations.

In addition to the job cards, WINNS use the training videos that have been created by our consumable supplier to support our staff in the field.
