POSITIVE MONTH AT WINNS

So another busy positive month at WINNS.

The hot weather has seen all the WINNS Account Managers taking ice-creams to our frontline staff to say thank you for their hard work.  This is especially apt seeing as July is National Ice-cream month.

QUALIFICATIONS

I am sure it has become apparent by now that WINNS is dedicated to increasing its knowledge within the industry in order to improve our service for our clients and the welfare of our staff.  This month Chris Stebbing achieved his Level 2 Mental Health First Aider qualification.  Riaz Hussain completed his first aid course and Karen completed the B870, Managing in a Changing World module on the road to her MBA.

Rachael Agombar has also sourced some free Level 2 courses that are relevant to our industry and is enthusiastically promoting these to enhance the knowledge base of all WINNS staff.

NEW WORK

ROYAL HOLLOWAYScreenshot 2022-07-12 at 15.13.16

Royal Holloway is formed from two colleges, founded by two social pioneers, Elizabeth Jesser Reid and Thomas Holloway. They were among the first places in Britain where women could access higher education.  WINNS Services were proud to provide support to the soft services team by cleaning over 100 kitchens in preparation for the arrival of guests staying for Ascot. Fantastic work everyone.

TESTIMONIALS RECEIVED THIS MONTH

We have nearly completed the update to our website, but felt that it needed more than just us saying how good we were.  We have therefore begun contacting our clients and asking them to provide testimonials to support our claims.  These have started rolling in and we would like to thank everyone of WINNS employees who have made these comments a reality.

WHOLE COMPANY QUARTERLY TARGETS

As you know, 2 months ago we sat down and agreed Company, Department, Team and Personal Targets for the Quarter.  With only 1 month to go we are really pleased to report that a large percentage of targets have been achieved.

The target creating the biggest learning curve for many of us is the improvement of our social media presence via Linked In.

We write and post 2 blogs a week which incorporate the following Company news, Templates for prospective clients, technical explanations ,celebrations, etc.  These will now be posted on Linked In as well.

Every member of Head Office has now posted and commented on each others posts and this is slowly becoming part of our working life practice.  It has been really great seeing more of our staff being featured in the posts.

This month we have all been instructed by our Marketing Company, 07 Heaven Marketing,  to change our profiles and to focus on CTA and social proof posts!  Hopefully we will rise to this challenge.

HOLIDAY PAY

Holiday pay for staff working shifts of differing hours etc. creates a nightmare for staff and administrators alike.  In wanting to ensure that all staff receive their total entitlement each year staff holiday based on hours not days.  However, this can be confusing and so WINNS are in the process of creating an information video that explains the calculation and will add this to their new staff welcome pack, monthly staff newsletter and our website.  Hopefully it will be clearer than mud!

LONDON LIVING WAGE

The London Living Wage was mentioned by one of our field operatives in their response to what we should stop, start, keep doing.

Staff pay is not determined by the WINNS, rather it is determined by the hourly rate paid by the client.

We can confirm that all London clients are encouraged to pay the London Living Wage and that whenever the client does pay the London Living Wage this is passed on to our field operatives.  I can confirm that we have never knowingly paid our field operatives less per hour than that agreed with clients.

CHARITY

MENCAP

Chris Stebbing Project Operations Director, affiliated at the MENCAP Summer Sports Day.  He said he ‘had a great day watching them all give 100%, win, lose or forget what they were doing’.  Well done Chris.

HAVENS HOSPICE

Havens Hospices are bringing an Elephant Art Trail to Southend next year. It will be taking place from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-Sea and they hope to build on the success of their campaign Hares about Town. They are hoping to have 40 large elephants that will all have different designs. Their presenting partner is Southend Council and they have five other partners including C2C who will be doing promotion to get people from Essex and London to attend.

They were looking for sponsors of the elephants and WINNS are delighted to take part in this  fantastic community project and support such a fantastic cause.

In true WINNS style, we asked staff to come up with a suggestion for designs for our elephant, but once Chynna shared hers, we all conceded defeat, although Ryan still has to put his drawing into the frame 😂

These are two of Chynna's suggestions and we would welcome your feedback.
