Charitable Christmas Cards

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year when everyone feels happy and jolly. It is also the time of year that people feel most charitable.

Many people give each other Christmas cards, gifts and catch up with one another at this time of the year. This is enjoyed by families and friends everywhere. Whilst we all not only enjoy great company but also the warmth and joy of our homes, all decorated for Christmas, others unfortunately don’t have this privilege.

Christmas is often depicted on Christmas cards as sitting by an open fire in a cozy living space with Christmas stockings hanging from the fireplace. This year our company has decided to donate the money that would have been spent on showing these idyllic homes to HARP. A local charity aiming to end rough sleeping in Southend-On-Sea.

The charity helps local people overcome homelessness for good. This can help them move forward with their life and get back on track. It is easy to judge a situation when you're not in it, but this is something that could quickly change for any of us. If you didn’t have your family for support, lost your job, making you behind on payments and going bankrupt. When at your lowest point it is easy to lose sight of hope but charities like HARP aim to give that back.

The charity aims to support rough sleepers by providing them with food and washing facilities. This can help someone feel like they have their dignity back. I think it is safe to say we all feel better after a meal and a wash. These are things that we may take for granted in our everyday lives that help us function to the best of our abilities.

Providing help and advice with any underlying issues related to their homelessness situation so that they have the best chance possible of moving forward to a positive, healthier lifestyle. This is a great way to help underlying issues to stop them from becoming homeless again. Also to get their health to a good level where they can reconnect with society and look after themselves.

In the meantime, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a very Happy and prosperous New Year!

Remember, the joy is all in the giving – so give, love and enjoy!

Merry Christmas from all of us at WINNS Services.
