Ways Your Company Can Be Eco-Friendly

In the twenty first century whether or not your company is eco-friendly matters. This can be done in many ways, from recycling, packaging, admissions and being energy efficient.

Since the threat of global warming, and more and more exposure on how make plastic ends up in our oceans- seeing how it is affecting animals and ourselves- allows it to sink in to people's minds making the threat more real and relatable.

Many clients and customers these days care about a company's impact on the planet. This helps create trust and loyalty from a client or customer. With many companies providing similar or the same products or services this can make the difference. If a customer is looking at two similar products by two companies then being eco-friendly could sway the buyer.

Four ways companies can look at being more eco-friendly are listed below:

Recycling

This is where most companies start as not only is it good for the environment but it is also in the interests of the company by helping with their profits. The key here is to look at reduce, reuse and recycle. By reducing waste the less you have to pay to have it taken away or to send it to landfill. Next you should see what could be reused either by your company or by others. This saves more items from being wasted and going to landfill. And finally recycle, any glass, plastic, cardboards, cans, construction material and food waste etc can be recycled.

Packaging

Start by looking at the product in the production stages where you could reduce the packaging or whether it could cost you less to produce the item itself. By making this more efficient will also help to stop any extra packaging being thrown straight in to the bin. This is where it can cost the company less as they are not making this extra packaging anymore.

Emissions (Factory or Delivery)

Your emissions can be reduced no matter what industry you are in. If you are having a product made then you will need to take a look at the factory it is produced in. Then have a look at how the factory itself can look at reducing emissions. This could be done by looking at using energy efficient alternatives such as solar panels, turbines or geothermal energy. However, if you provide a service then you may want to look at delivery methods. This will be more efficient and cost a company less in the long run. You could do this by looking into electric vehicles and delivering everything on the same route in one go.

Energy Efficient (solar, turbines, geothermal)

By changing over to energy efficient alternatives such as solar, turbines or geothermal energy this could save you a lot of money in the long run. It is also something customers and clients are looking to support as your company is showing positive change moving forward. This of course can have a massive impact on the planet, by using less coal (or no coal at all) we aren't using up our natural resources.
